We've started a new month, January, and it's good time to see what were the most popular English words in Edustation.
Let's see Top 10 English Words of the Month - December:
1. Scraping
- to remove an unwanted covering or a top layer from something, especially using a sharp edge or something rough
e.g. We'll have to scrape the snow off the car before we go out in it
2. Bran
- the outer covering of grain that is separated when making white flour. Bran is added to other foods because it contains a lot of the fibre needed for a healthy body
e.g. Both these breakfast cereals have added bran
3. Rinsing
- to use water to clean the soap or dirt from something
e.g. First apply shampoo to hair and then rinse thoroughly
4. Tap
- to hit something gently, and often repeatedly, especially making short, sharp noises
e.g. Someone tapped me on the shoulder

- something that makes people want to go to a place or do a particular thing
e.g. Life in London has so many attractions - nightclubs, good restaurants, and tourist attractions

- An object, such as a cork or a wad of cloth, used to fill a hole tightly
- To publicize (a product, for example) favorably, as by mentioning on a broadcast
e.g. That interview was just a way for him to plug his new book
7. Something
- an object, situation, quality, or action that is not exactly known or stated
e.g. Is there something you'd like to say?
8. Hundred
- the number 100
e.g. There were hundreds of people at the pool today
9. Thousand
- he number 1000
e.g. The population of the village is about three thousand
10. Die
- to stop living or existing
e.g. It is a brave person who will die for their beliefs
