December 27, 2010 Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, in last Friday's interview for Russian television, said politicians in Poland should expel politics from bilateral efforts to investigate Smolensk air crash. Russian and Polish investigators are conducting separate probes into the April 10 plane crash that killed 96 people, including Polish President Lech Kaczynski, his wife Maria and many top Polish officials. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk had said earlier that the report on the Smolensk tragedy delivered by Moscow's Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK) report was "unacceptable to the Polish side" because of negligence and errors and not in keeping with the Chicago Convention [the global accord that regulates probes of plane crashes]. Poland sent back the report with a list of comments and queries for clarification by the Russian side. Medvedev said, on Friday, that Poland's PM reacted emotionally and that his reaction was rooted in various domestic political problems in Poland. Russian President also said that his latest visit to Poland improved relations and resulted in agreements to investigate the cause of the crash in every detail with the help of independent international experts.
