ERIN: With video chat, you can
have face-to-face conversations
with people using
your computer.
All you need is a webcam, a
microphone, and a video chat
service like Skype or Google
Video Chat, both of
which are free.
Google Video Chat works right
inside Gmail, so if you don't
have an account already, visit
gmail.com and create one.
You'll also need to install the
Video Chat plugin, an add-on
that brings extra capabilities
to your browser.
Note that anyone you want to
chat with also needs to have
the plugin installed
on their computer.
To grab the video plugin, go to
gmail.com/videochat, and click
Install Voice and Video Chat.
Once you have the plugin,
open a new window, and
then head to gmail.com.
Click on the person's name
that you want to video chat
with, and then click the
little video chat icon.
Once they answer the
call, you're all set.
