May 20, 2011 Poland's next government should take it upon themselves to reform the pension system by introducing the same retirement age for men and women and extending the active work life of Poles, as results from President Bronislaw Komorowski's meeting with experts. None of the experts expected the incumbent government to carry out these changes during the election campaign. The government has prepared a schedule of bringing women's retirement age up to par with men's and raising the retirement age to 67 gradually from 2015 to 2025, which should result in 750 000 more people on the labor market after that date, PM's chief advisor Michal Boni said.
